G.W. Aimar papers, 1869-1879

Business correspondence, primarily orders from physicians for medicine from Aimar's apothecary, and a printed broadside and medicine label. Printed ephemera associated with the pharmacy: a printed label for "Aimar's Infallible Gonorrhoea Injection" [undated, but thought to have been printed ca. 1852-1877], which promised to cure gonorrhea within 5 days; and broadside, [ca. 1869?] promoting "Aimar's neurotic oil : for neuralgia, rheumatism...&c." Letter, 1 Mar. 1876, J.F. Baggot, M.D., Bamberg, S.C., to G.W. Aimar, re purchase of medicines, and apologies for his financial straits, "If times were as they have been I could pay cash for them but my means is locked up just now in 'Promises to pay.' But after all perhaps the tight times may be a wholesome lesson to the Country and a promise of better times coming."; letter, 20 July 1876, [Theodore B. ?] Gordon, Darlington, S.C., re filling prescriptions and also requesting "two bottles... Tooth Wash and one pink Cologne"; letter, 16 Aug. 1876, S.A. Marvin, of White Hall, S.C., re purchase of one bottle of general mixture of medical powders for $1.25. Letter, 10 Feb. 1877, I.M. Stokes, of Jacksonboro, S.C., re purchase of an order of lumber; letter, 31 Mar. 1879, from Kimball & Holliday, of Johnsonville, S.C., requesting shipment of morphine, "syrup squills," liquorice, chloroform, camphor gum, opium, and canned okra; and an invoice, 15 June 1876, from W.H. Schieffelin & Co., of New York [no details on what was ordered].
